Today's method vs. tomorrow's

The five vital signs are typically measured and registered several times for each patient during their emergency room stay.

When measuring with today's method, the nurse must use hand sanitizer and put on protective equipment; an apron or gown, a facemask, face shield, and gloves. After that, the nurse places a blood pressure cuff on the patient’s upper arm and a pulse oximeter finger clip on the opposite hand. While the device inflates the cuff, the nurse counts the respiratory rate. A disposable plastic tip is placed on the ear thermometer before measuring the body temperature. When the pulse oximeter has a stable reading, heart rate is also measured, and the results are written down. The protective equipment is removed and disposed of, the devices are cleaned with surface disinfectant, and hand sanitizer is used. Finally, the vital signs are entered into the patients' electronic health records.

With Detectivio's technology, all vital signs are measured simultaneously, with a comfortable and contact-free scan of the face, and the results are automatically stored in the right place.
